World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is June 15

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, all spectrums of life have been affected. This Monday, June 15th, is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. We ask you to take a moment to learn about elder abuse and how COVID-19 has impacted elder abuse cases. Elder Abuse is the neglect of the elderly, either in emotional, physical, sexual, or financial form. Some examples of elder abuse are and not limited to: hitting, shoving, humiliation, isolation, stealing, identity theft, and fraud.During the COVID-19 pandemic, certain restrictions have been put in place to help keep the elderly from contracting the disease. These restrictions have left the elderly on their own in their homes and care homes, where it is up to them to decide what is right and wrong.
